Ali Shan Oolong

OOLONG TEA

27 reviews

This lightly oxidized oolong comes from Li Jia village in the Ali Shan range of Taiwan and is produced by the Fang sisters, 3rd generation female tea farmers made with the Si Ji Chun (Four Seasons Spring) tea cultivar. Sitting at 1600M, this tea garden is surrounded by a forest of fir, and bamboo. The nutrient rich soil produces a rich and full bodied oolong with notes of orchid, peach and sugarcane.

Tasting Notes:

Gardenia, sugarcane, peach

Interesting flavor!

New to oolong and this is a good "first try". I would recommend it.

Not as good as Golden Oolong

We weren’t as happy with this oolong as we were with the Golden Oolong. Not as toasty and flavorful as other Smith oolong, a bit too mild for us

Ali Shan Oolong

It's my go to afternoon tea. It's a really nice mild flavor which makes a second steep really tasty.

Relaxing

From nose, to aroma, to taste, this tea has character and holds its own among Ali Shan High Mountain teas.

Suble and complex oolong

Brewed a very light color, with aromas and flavors I cannot fully describe but am hooked.

Ali Shan

Taiwanese Oolong Tea

This full leaf tea is produced in the Ali Shan mountains of Taiwan from the Si Ji Chun (Four Seasons Spring) tea cultivar. This lightly oxidized oolong is prized for its full mouth feel, soft tropical, floral and stone fruit notes and a candied finish. This tea can be steeped several times and is enjoyed with both a traditional brew process or in a gaiwan service.

Ali Shan

Located in eastern Chiayi County in central Taiwan, the Ali Shan (Mountain) Range is famous for its scenic beauty and high elevation oolong teas. This elevation helps to give the tea its rich and floral flavor. The two growing seasons, Spring and Winter, each produce a different flavor profile in the tea.
