Kinto Ceramic Lab Teapot

1 review

This delicate porcelain teapot is handcrafted by Japanese brand Kinto and is a fresh interpretation of Japanese tableware for the modern lifestyle. Made of sandstone unique to Hasami region in Japan, which mixes sand and rocks with local Amakusa porcelain stone to create the ceramic-like organic texture, while ensuring durability of high-quality porcelain. The iron in the sandstone also reacts with the glaze to create deep nuanced expressions. Perfect for a tea ceremony for one.

Fantastic little teapot!

I bought this teapot because it looks so lovely and is like the stoneware I love. I also liked that the top is unique- it covers the whole pot (is the same diameter as the base). I like that feature. The only downside is that it gets very hot after you've brewed a pot. When I add more water after an initial pour I need to use something to hold the top. That's ok! It's so lovely I don't care. The tea leaf mesh holder is the height of the pot itself, so it holds a ton of tea, if that's your thing.
