Long Jing (Dragonwell)

GREEN TEA

21 reviews

Pan-fired in a hot wok and flattened by hand, Dragonwell (also known as "Long Jing) is for many the most famous green tea. The best comes from Hangzhou, near the spring where a dragon was said to dwell. We prize its pale emerald color and slightly sweet, chestnut-like taste.

Tasting Notes:

Chestnut, butter, sweetgrass

Delicious!

My taichi teacher told me it was traditional to drink Dragonwell tea after the summer solstice. So, I decided to try. Smith Teamaker Dragonwell is fantastic. I used to drink a nice quality green tea daily, but had switched to oolong. So, I was surprised how complex and delicious this tea was! It smells grassy when it's ready to drink, and the flavor is out of this world. It definitely is a delightful summer hot tea. I've already reordered three times this summer!

Mom’s Birthday Gift

The only thing my mother asked for her birthday was Long Jing (Dragonwell) by Smith Tea. So I had to have some delivered. She FaceTime me after the teas arrival. Wish you could’ve seen the smile on her face. Thanks for making such a great product!

Chinese Green Tea

Traditionally pan-fired in a hot wok and flattened by hand, Dragonwell, also known as "Long Jing", is for many the most famous green tea. The best comes from Hangzhou, near the spring where a dragon was said to dwell. We prize its pale emerald color and slightly sweet, chestnut-like taste.

Hangzhou

Hangzhou is the capital city of Zhejiang Province in Eastern China. Long since seen in China as a center for culture, food and art, Hangzhou is also famous for Xi Hu, or its West Lake. True to its name, this westernly situated lake is a pure joy to jog around in the morning, where one can take in the scenery and watch the locals gather in groups to practice taijiquan, line dance, jazzercise and so much more. Long Jing is harvested from late March to May.
